Tory made the announcement on April 8 at The Chefs’ House, a fine-dining eatery at 215 King St. E., where culinary and hospitality students put their skills into practice. George Brown College President Dr. Gervan Fearon and Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts Director Chef John Higgins joined the mayor as he shared the good news.

Summerlicious 2022 will run from August 12 to 28. The event was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, and while takeout’s been great, Tory is eager to attract people back to patios and dining rooms across the city.

“I encourage Toronto residents to continue supporting and celebrating the revival of Toronto restaurants by safely joining friends and dining locally to sample the diverse culinary offerings Toronto restaurants have to offer,” he said.

The Chefs’ House has proudly participated in Summerlicious in years past and George Brown students are eager to wow customers with impressive meals and service.

“I’m so excited to see the return of Summerlicious! I encourage eligible restaurants throughout the city to apply so that everyone will once again dine and enjoy the taste of our multicultural city this August,” Higgins said. “As the only student-run, fine dining restaurant in downtown Toronto, Chefs’ House restaurant at George Brown College, looks forward to being a part of the city’s favourite food event.”
