Students present timely research at international applied business conference

A group of George Brown students from the college’s Analytics for Business Decision Making program presented their research projects at the University of Guelph Humber International Applied Business Conference held on May 6 and 7.  

The students’ research covered topics related to the tourism industry, online shopping, artificial intelligence, the airline industry, blockchain technologies and COVID-19. More than 250 participants from 30 countries joined the virtual conference.

Mohammed Abrar won first place for Best Student Research Paper and Presentation for his research, "Examining the Renewable Energy Consumption Per Capita in G7 Countries." 

The students were supported by George Brown professors Dr. Andy Asare, Dr. Robin Yap and Karen Sinotte.   

“Our students gave outstanding presentations,” said Dr. Andy Asare, a professor in the School of Management who mentored the students. “Mohammed’s presentation was very insightful and offered some great findings and practical recommendations on renewable energy consumption. I was impressed by all of our students who presented and would like to congratulate them on their work.”
