Celebrating Construction Visionary and Philanthropist, Angelo DelZotto

We’re deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Angelo DelZotto (1930-2020), leader of Tridel Corporation, legendary city builder and generous philanthropist.

Mr. DelZotto was a long-time supporter of George Brown College. In 2013, a generous donation from Tridel and the DelZotto family established the Angelo DelZotto School of Construction Management, which offers eight programs including Ontario’s only four-year degree program in construction management. Since 2009, Tridel has supported George Brown students with more than $235,000 in scholarships through the BOLT Charitable Foundation.

“We are extremely proud and honoured to have one of our schools named after Angelo,” said George Brown College president Anne Sado. “Angelo had great insights into the sector and felt strongly about future-proofing the construction industry through education. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations of students in construction management.”

Every year, more than 1,400 students are enrolled in the Angelo DelZotto School of Construction Management and many graduates go on to gain work-integrated learning experiences and employment at Tridel.

“Angelo DelZotto was a giant in Toronto’s construction industry, and he was also an ally of construction and engineering students and, by extension, a true friend of George Brown College and the Foundation,” said George Brown College Foundation president, Cindy Gouveia. “Through his numerous acts of generosity, Angelo has left an indelible mark on the college.”
