McMaster’s Startup Survivor Program Empowers Student Entrepreneurs

The Forge at McMaster University is set to host its annual Startup Survivor program, a four-month summer accelerator designed to turn student ideas into viable businesses.

Running from May to August 2026, the program brings together ten selected teams of students and recent alumni, challenging them to develop, refine, and pitch their startup concepts. Participants receive hands-on mentorship, access to industry experts, and structured workshops focused on business modelling, prototyping, and go-to-market strategies.

This is a summer entrepreneurship training program offering $10,000 stipends to participants, paired with a $30,000 pitch competition, designed for entrepreneurial students and recent alumni from all Ontario universities and colleges.

The program culminates in a high-energy pitch competition, where top teams present their businesses to a live audience and a panel of judges for a chance to win cash prizes and potential investment opportunities.

As one of McMaster’s flagship entrepreneurship initiatives, Startup Survivor continues to foster innovation, collaboration, and real-world experience, helping the next generation of founders transform ideas into impactful ventures.
