George Brown College’s Peer Mentor+ and School of ESL host events commemorating International Week of the Deaf. All are invited to celebrate and learn more about Deaf culture in education and workplace settings!
Attend a panel event where five local community leader panellists will share their experiences of challenges and achievements they’ve faced in both corporate and arts industries.
The panel features five local Deaf community leaders, with a Q&A portion to follow.
- Alexandra Hickox is a filmmaker and founder of Unity Deaf Film Festival (UDFF) and Undivided Productions.
- Tristan Kong is a licensed realtor and professional photographer.
- Nicola Di Capua is an accountant, strategy consultant, film producer and award-winning documentary filmmaker.
- Michael Samakayi is an employment consultant at Canadian Hearing Services.
- Carlisle Robinson is an art director at the Canadian Cultural Society of the Deaf and has competed in the Deaflympics and Deaf World Swimming Championships.
