Robert Bryan Daley, NM, Red Seal Chef, 1969-2016

Robert Bryan Daley was born on August 22, 1969, in Jamaica, the youngest of nine siblings. Robert's great passion in life was food and nutrition and cooking. He held several jobs in the foodservice industry including quick service, hotel and restaurant, long-term care and catering.

He graduated from the George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology Apprentice Program in 2004 and achieved his Red Seal Chef status in 2005. Robert obtained further qualifications at Centennial College where he graduated from the Food and Nutrition Management program in 2013 and obtained professional status as a Nutrition Manager, through the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management. Robert also enjoyed baseball as a former amateur baseball player, youth coach, life-long Blue Jays fan and Certified Umpire.

Robert Daley is remembered best as an everyday Hero. His love for life was infectious, his positive outlook, humility and high regard for others is reflected in the well wishes and equally high regard from his family and many friends and colleagues. His excellent work ethic brought him to the top of the group whether in a school or work setting. Robert passed away on September 2, 2016. He touched many lives in a positive way and with this scholarship continues to pay it forward.
