In order to properly evaluate applications for admission to this highly competitive program, we are inviting the highest ranked applicants to complete an online, recorded oral and written interview. We are using the Kira Talent platform to conduct these interviews.

Section 3 Accessing the Interview
Section 1: Overview
This interview will provide you the opportunity to get to know more about George Brown Polytechnic, and the nursing program, and what we are looking for in our top candidates.
The interview will allow George Brown to get to know you, your existing skill set, personality, potential and how you think on your feet. The interview is both time efficient and meaningful.
- George Brown has partnered with Kira Talent to conduct these online, recorded interviews. While the questions have all been developed by George Brown Polytechnic, and the evaluators will be from George Brown Polytechnic faculty or healthcare professionals, Kira Talent staff will be available for technical assistance throughout the process.
- Your interview will only be shared with the George Brown Polytechnic appointed evaluators (faculty or healthcare professionals), who will be reviewing and evaluating your interview for admissions purposes.

- Applications will initially be reviewed based on the results of the Entrance Exam. The highest ranked applicants will be invited to complete the interview.
- If you are enrolled in the prerequisite courses, you will have been invited to write the written exam.
- Transcripts received by admissions or other George Brown programs, will be used to determine your GPA score.
- Congratulations on your invitation! Please click on the unique link provided to you in the email. This will bring you to the Kira Talent website where you will complete the interview.
- First you must register your account using your name and email address.
- You will have access to watch a welcome video and will be guided through the device setup. Once complete you will have access to practice as many times as you'd like.
- The final interview will need to be submitted by the deadline provided to you in the invitation.
Section 2: Technical
- Desktop computer or laptop with a webcam and microphone
- Check the list of recommended browsers and devices.
- Adobe Flash Player
- 40 minutes to an hour in a quiet place for the interview
- If possible, we recommend borrowing a laptop with a webcam and microphone from a family member or friend. If you are still not able to get access to a compatible device, please contact us and we will provide you with an alternative location to complete the video interview on our campus.
- The video interview platform, Kira Talent is available for 24 hour support and assistance. If you are experiencing technical difficulty we recommend contacting Kira right away by clicking the "need help?" button and starting a live chat, emailing them at support@kiratalent.com or phoning them at 1 855 680-3224.
- Unfortunately, you will not be able to access the interview via a tablet or mobile device. The interview includes one written question and these devices do not allow for this. The entire interview must be completed on a desktop or laptop computer.
Section 3: Accessing the Interview
- Qualified applicants will first receive a letter from George Brown Polytechnic advising them that they have made it to the next stage of the interview
- After receiving the letter, applicants will receive an email (to the email address on file at George Brown) with a personalized link to the interview
- This link is the only way to access the interview
- If you decide at any point prior to beginning the formal interview that you would like to complete it at a later time, simply close your browser and use the link in your original invite email, or the registration confirmation email to return to the check-in page. You will have to complete the device setup again upon reloading the check-in page.
- Please note that once you start the formal interview, you cannot stop and start again
- If possible, we recommend borrowing a laptop with a webcam and microphone from a family member or friend. If you are still not able to get access to a compatible device, please contact us and we will provide you with an alternative location to take do the video interview on our campus.

- Once you have completed your registration with Accessible Learning Services and your accommodations have been arranged, you may book your assessment by calling 416-415-5000, ext. 2624. Please allow 5 business days before booking your assessment.
Section 4: The Interview
- The interview is broken up into three stages.
- Question: read to you by the interviewer.
- Preparation: time to prepare your answer. The camera will be on for you to see how you're presenting yourself, but recording won't start until the end of preparation time.
- Response: a set amount of time to respond to the question. Pay attention to the remaining time because once it is up, you will be cut off.
- There are eight questions in this interview. Most questions take 3 – 5 minutes to complete. There are six video questions and two written questions..
- Take the time to practice.
- Turn off devices/notifications that might distract you, and find a quiet place.
- Clean up the area around you. Keep your background simple and clutter-free.
- Keep the light in front of you. Put a lamp behind your device or set up your interview in front of a window during the day.
- Try your best to look into the camera to create a connection.
- Take a deep breath, relax and be yourself.
- There's no dress code, but it's recommend to ensure that you're professional and presentable. Dress how you would for an in-person interview.
- You can practice an unlimited number of times. The practice session has 3 questions, but you can have as many practice sessions as you need to feel comfortable with video interviewing.
- Your practice is for your use only, they will not be saved and they will not be sent to the evaluator.
- You are given two minutes to respond to the verbal questions, and 60 seconds to prepare. You are given twelve minutes to respond to the written questions. The entire interview should take about 40-60 minutes to complete.
- Once you click "start the interview" you will be on live time and will not be able to pause or stop or restart the interview.
- The questions asked during the practice will not be the same as the ones in the interview.
- Every applicant will be provided with a deadline that they must complete the interview by. If you miss this deadline, your application will be expired and you will not be granted the opportunity to complete it again.
Section 5: After the Interview
- Unfortunately applicants are only able to complete the interview once.
- Applicants will not have access to review their interview questions. During the practice sessions you will be able to watch and listen to your responses.
- The online oral interviews will be held between March 16-23, 2019. After this date, it can take up to 2 weeks for the admission office to receive the results of your interview. At that point an admission decision will be communicated to you.
