Biography

Mona Modaresi is the Chief of Staff in the President’s Office at George Brown Polytechnic and a member of the Senior Leadership Team. She works closely with the President and senior executives to support leadership discussions and collective decision-making on institutional priorities, providing strategic coordination, analysis, and counsel across academic, administrative, and community-facing areas of the institution.

Mona plays a key role in coordinating executive activities, leadership meetings, and institution-wide engagements, including town halls and strategic forums. She is often involved in shaping how complex and sensitive issues are framed and communicated at the executive level, particularly during periods of change or uncertainty. Her role also includes oversight of community partnerships aligned with the President’s Office.

Known for her ability to synthesize diverse perspectives and provide sound judgment, Mona brings a broad, organization-wide view to senior-level conversations and supports thoughtful, collaborative dialogue among leaders. With a background in English, leadership, and legal administration, she is valued for her discretion, emotional intelligence, and strong communication skills.

Mona holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Organizational Development and Leadership from Athabasca University, a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Language and Literature from York University, and a diploma in Law Clerk Studies from Seneca Polytechnic. She has also earned certificates in Counselling and Life Skills Coaching from George Brown Polytechnic.
