Dr. Gervan Fearon, President of George Brown Polytechnic, reflects on why we are honouring William Peyton Hubbard by naming our Chef School atrium after him, and reaffirming our commitment to equity, inclusion, and the values that shape our community.

George Brown Polytechnic is making an exciting change. In February 2026, we will name the Chef School atrium in honour of William Peyton Hubbard, a visionary leader who championed equity, inclusion, and innovation.

We’re excited to celebrate our George Brown community as Chef Markus Elegino and Chloe Nguyen teamed up to take on elite bakers in the high-stakes Bake Master Battle: Holiday edition and were crowned the winners.

The Chef School's annual Holiday Gingerbread Competition celebrated its 17th year this November, bringing together 33 talented students who transformed beloved stories and films into edible architectural masterpieces.

George Brown Polytechnic’s Chef School is proud to highlight the release of Cooking Compassion, a new cookbook created by two long-serving faculty members.

George Brown College students demonstrated exceptional talent on the national stage, securing gold and bronze medals at the 2025 Skills Canada Competition, held May 29-30 in Regina, Saskatchewan.

George Brown College student competitors showcased excellence at the annual Skills Ontario Competition on May 5-6, 2025, bringing home three gold and two silver medals.
