George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.

Doorway closures at 200 King St. E., June - August, 2026
As part of the ongoing effort to improve accessibility and sustainability on campus, George Brown Polytechnic’s Facilities and Sustainability teams are deploying a project to replace two sets of doors at 200 King Street East this summer.
These updates will mitigate air pressure and draft issues in the building, ensuring better air quality, while also improving accessibility functionality with interior sliding doors at the main entrance.
This project requires the two affected doorways to be closed in phases at separate times between July and August.
Appropriate signage will be placed on the exterior and interior of the building, and security will be deployed to provide direction.
Closure timeline
Phase 1
Campus Store Doors (East Entry)
Closed from June 15 to July 3, 2026, approximately.
Phase 2
Main Entrance Doors (West Entry)
Closed from July 6 to August 7, 2026, approximately.
Alternate accessible door
In Phase 2, the main entrance on King Street, which is the street’s current accessible entrance, will be closed.
During this time, visitors can use the alternate accessible door on the Adelaide Street side of the building, which has ramps and door openers all the way to the elevator hall. To reach the same level the King Street entrance leads to, the elevator will need to be taken down one level.
If assistance is needed with accessible entry, contact GBP security at 416-415-5000 ext. 2773.
Once complete, this doorway will have interior automatic sliding doors.
