Request OAREHRS training

Main Content

Thank you for your interest in requesting a EDI and/or Anti-Racism session. To help us best prepare for your training and tailor the session to meet your unit’s specific needs, please complete our training request form.

Please note that while we strive to accommodate all training requests, there may be instances where we are unable to deliver sessions due to capacity limits. In these cases, we encourage you to consider the following options:

  1. Complete the foundational OAREHRS courses: These include Doing the Work: An Introduction to Anti-RacismAODA TrainingSexual Harassment and Sexual Violence PolicyHuman Rights Discrimination & Harassment Policy, and Our Duty to Accommodate.
  2. Stay connected: Subscribe to the OAREHRS newsletter to stay informed about George Brown-wide educational sessions and events.

Please see the two-step process to request training.

Step 1

Before completing the training request form for our live (synchronous) sessions, please consider the following:

  1. Requests for training sessions must be submitted at least three weeks in advance.
  2. Ensure that you and your team have completed the foundational OAREHRS e-courses within the past year. This is a mandatory prerequisite before engaging in any live training sessions.
  3. Please confirm a minimum of 10 participants for the live training sessions before making a request.

Step 2

After submitting the training request form, please come prepared to your introductory meeting to discuss:

  1. Reason for your request, accessibility needs and session topics.
  2. Physical space and equipment: You are responsible for booking a suitable room, ensuring it provides some level of privacy, and organizing necessary equipment, such as microphones and projection tools. If refreshments are desired during the session, you will need to provide them yourself.
  3. Online space and setup: OAREHRS will handle the creation of Teams links and will share them with the primary contact. The primary contact will be responsible for distributing the link to all participants.
  4. Registration and promotions: Managing registration and promotional activities for the session is your responsibility.
If you do not meet the minimum requirement of 10 participants for an in-person session, please notify OAREHRS at least two business days in advance. We will then decide the next steps.
You are also responsible for sending reminder emails leading up to the training date.
  5. Commitment to follow-up steps: After the session, you and your team will receive a survey and additional resources. Please encourage everyone to complete the survey, and make yourself available for a debrief meeting and/or follow-up on next steps recommended by the OAREHRS facilitator(s).
