The Welding Techniques one-year certificate program applies the technical theory and elements of the welding field through hands-on learning, transforming you into a welding pro. With our state-of-the-art welding lab featuring 26 stations and virtual welding simulations, you’ll hone your skills in a controlled setting. Our Smart Welding Lab also comes with an infrared camera and monitor that lets instructors demonstrate and digitally document welding techniques.

The School of Architectural Studies’ (SAS) three-year Architectural Technology program prepares students to develop into architectural technologists who play a key role in transforming architectural designs into technical construction documents and practical building solutions. This multi-year program equips students with a solid foundation in building design, construction methods, materials, building codes and regulations, sustainable practices, digital practices and software in CAD, digital project delivery, and 3D visualization as well as the latest digital technologies such as 3D laser scanning, digital photogrammetry and aerial reality capture using drones.

Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on studio projects, students develop technical skills in preparing drawings, specifications, cost estimates and other documentation required for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional building projects. The curriculum covers areas such as building science, project management, detailing, site planning and the integration of various building systems.

Graduates are trained to collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors and other professionals in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. They contribute to the design process, construction documentation, project coordination and on-site supervision. The program prepares students for entry-level roles such as architectural technologists, digital project delivery co-ordinators, junior designers, estimators and project coordinators in various roles within the architecture, engineering and construction industries, as well as government agencies, and related organizations, contributing to the successful execution of building projects from concept to completion.

The three-year Interior Design advanced diploma program prepares you for a future in the interior design industry. This program not only helps you become a valuable member of a design team, but also gives you life skills that go well beyond the world of design.

Each semester, your main studio courses teach you how to develop conceptual designs for residential and commercial spaces, how to represent designs in 2D and 3D using a broad range of architectural drawing programs and how to communicate design intentions using construction drawings. In your project work, you’ll incorporate building code, sustainability, accessibility, lighting, textiles, furniture, colour and ergonomics. Although selection of finishes is part of what we do, this is not a decorating program.

In our innovative Applied A.I. Solutions Development one-year graduate certificate program, you’ll immerse yourself in a cross-disciplinary blend of computer science, mathematics and business, equipping you with the expertise to craft solutions across industries using artificial intelligence (A.I.), machine learning, deep learning and data science/analytics.

This unique program merges computer science, math and business with a design-thinking approach to produce machine-learning/deep-learning models and intuitive dashboards to communicate results and findings. As a student, you’ll also receive comprehensive training in tailoring your presentations to target audiences, including technical experts, business stakeholders and potential investors.

In the Mechanical Technician – CNC and Precision Machining two-year diploma program, you’ll dive into the world of precision machining and cutting-edge computer-controlled machine (CNC) technology. Our state-of-the-art labs, including Precision Machining, CAD/CAM, CNC, Research, and Robotics, will set you up with hands-on training and real-world skills. You’ll design and manufacture tools, jigs, fixtures, precision fabrication, assemblies and prototypes using computer-aided design and manufacturing software, precision machining equipment and sophisticated CNC machine tool technology.
