Pedro the Penguin, written by Philip Diamond, is a family-friendly children's play about a young penguin who dreams of flying. When one of Santa's reindeer is injured, Pedro sees a chance to prove that determination and self-belief can help overcome even the greatest obstacles. The story celebrates courage, imagination, and pursuing your dreams despite self-doubt.

Originally developed as a 10-minute play for a 2025 playwriting course at George Brown Theatre School, it was expanded into a full-length production after a successful initial run. The show is now being presented at the 2026 Toronto Fringe Festival KidsFest (June 30–July 11) at the Young People's Theatre Studio. It is also the inaugural production of Participatory Players, a new theatre company dedicated to creating accessible Canadian works, and is recommended for audiences ages 4–12 and up.
