Alumni Relations is proud to support the events hosted by alumna Sara Shemirani will present her debut photography exhibition, in the garden, with an opening reception on Saturday, July 18, from 6–9 pm at House of Iris (407 Roncesvalles Ave, Toronto).
The exhibition features photographs from a diverse range of community gardens across Toronto, captured during their final harvest season in fall of 2025. Exploring themes of renewal, decay, and the ephemeral nature of the gardens, the work reflects Shemirani’s longstanding interest in urban agriculture and background in architecture. The exhibition grew from her Digital Photography Certificate capstone photobook project.
Presented at House of Iris, a full-service interior and garden design studio whose practice is rooted in restoration and intentional living, the exhibition finds a natural home among ideas that resonate deeply with its themes.
in the garden will remain on view through July 25, with opening hours Wednesday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
