George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.
George Brown Polytechnic is proud to share that President Dr. Gervan Fearon will receive an Honorary Doctor of Laws (LLD) from the University of Guelph at its 2026 summer convocation.
One of the University’s highest honours, the honorary degree recognizes Dr. Fearon’s exceptional leadership in post-secondary education and his longstanding commitment to advancing access, inclusion and student success.
A strong advocate for the transformative power of education, Dr. Fearon has worked to expand opportunities for diverse communities at George Brown, in Canada and beyond. He continues to champion innovation and excellence in education, building on a distinguished career. His leadership continues to inspire students, educators and partners to create meaningful social and economic impact.
