George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.

What happens when globally trained talent, George Brown Polytechnic, and industry partners come together with purpose? Impact!
George Brown Polytechnic is proud to celebrate the success of the ReNEW Program in advancing newcomer career-readiness and inclusive economic growth. Generously funded through ScotiaRISE, Scotiabank’s community investment initiative to promote economic resilience among disadvantaged groups, the ReNEW Program is a customized career-readiness program for internationally trained professionals, delivered by George Brown faculty in collaboration with community and industry partners. Through focused training in labour market trends, Canadian employment regulations, professional branding, intercultural awareness, job search strategies, networking, interviewing, and more, ReNEW equips participants with the tools and confidence needed to pursue meaningful employment in Canada.
ReNEW’s Talent Connect event on April 13 brought together ReNEW alumni (2024-2026) and partners to celebrate the program’s success and strengthen talent pipelines. Hosted at George Brown’s Chefs' House, the event provided a dynamic and welcoming environment for networking and celebration. Talent Connect featured remarks from George Brown leadership, valued partners, and ReNEW graduates, who shared reflections on their professional journeys and the importance of transformative pathways to employment. With dedicated networking time, alumni showcased their skills and experiences, while employers connected directly with globally experienced talent ready to contribute across sectors.
The ReNEW Program and its Talent Connect event reflect George Brown Polytechnic’s ongoing commitment to newcomer success, workforce innovation, and industry and community partnerships. ReNEW unlocks international talent and is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through innovative partnerships.
