We're excited to support future students through the Open House Scholarship. Please take a moment to review the Terms and Conditions below to understand eligibility, application requirements, and important scholarship details.
1. Sponsor
The Open House Scholarship Giveaway (“Giveaway”) is sponsored by George Brown Polytechnic. (GBP)
2. Eligibility
The Giveaway is open to individuals who:
- Attend GBP’s Open House event on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at one of our three main campuses. St. James Campus, Casa Loma Campus, Waterfront Campus.
- Meet the admission requirements for an eligible program offered by George Brown Polytechnic.
- Are at least the age of majority in Ontario or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian where required by law.
Employees, directors, officers, and immediate family members of GBP, as well as anyone involved in the administration of the Giveaway, are not eligible unless otherwise permitted by law.
3. How to Enter
Eligible participants must:
- Attend the Open House.
- Sign in or register with staff at the Open House when you arrive. (Provide or ensure accurate contact information)
- Provide or ensure accurate contact information.
No purchase, payment, or application fee is required to enter or win.
Limit one entry per person unless otherwise stated by the Sponsor. Duplicate entries will be void.
4. Giveaway Period
The Giveaway begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, 24, 2026 and closes at 2 p.m. on Saturday, 24, 2026. Entries submitted after the closing time will not be eligible.
5. Prize
Four winners will receive a scholarship valued at up to $2,500, applied toward tuition for an eligible program at George Brown Polytechnic.
The scholarship:
- Has no cash value.
- Is non-transferable.
- Cannot be exchanged for cash or any other benefit.
- Must be applied to tuition only.
- Is subject to the recipient meeting all admission and enrollment requirements.
Any costs not specifically described as part of the scholarship are the responsibility of the recipient.
6. Winner Selection
The winner will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries received during the Giveaway Period.
The draw will take place on or about September 18, 2027.
The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
7. Winner Notification
The selected entrant will be contacted using the contact information provided on the entry form.
If the selected entrant:
- Cannot be reached within [5] business days.
- Fails to respond within the required time.
- Is found to be ineligible.
- Declines the prize.
The Sponsor reserves the right to select an alternate winner.
8. Scholarship Conditions
To receive the scholarship, the winner must:
- Meet all admission requirements.
- To receive the scholarship, the selected winner must be registered and enrolled in an eligible George Brown Polytechnic program as of Day 10 of the applicable semester.
- Accept the scholarship in writing if requested.
- Provide any documentation reasonably required by the Sponsor.
Failure to satisfy these requirements will result in forfeiture of the scholarship.
9. Publicity
By accepting the scholarship, the winner agrees to the Sponsor’s use of their name, photograph, and hometown for promotional purposes related to the Giveaway without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
10. Privacy
Personal information collected for the Giveaway will be used to administer the Giveaway, contact entrants, and for purposes described in GBP’s Privacy Policy.
The Sponsor will handle information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
11. General Conditions
George Brown Polytechnic reserves the right to:
- Verify participant eligibility.
- Disqualify any participant who provides false information or attempts to interfere with the Giveaway.
- Cancel, suspend, or modify the Giveaway if circumstances beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control affect its proper administration.
The Sponsor’s decisions regarding all aspects of the Giveaway are final.
12. Limitation of Liability
By participating, entrants release the George Brown Polytechnic and its employees, officers, directors, agents, and representatives from any liability arising from participation in the Giveaway or acceptance or use of the scholarship, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
