George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.

It's an exciting week as Dr. Gervan Fearon steps into his new role as President, George Brown College.
“Dr. Fearon has a proven track record of collaboration, transformative leadership, and of engaging students, faculty and staff in a shared mission,” says Kevin Costante, Chair, George Brown Board of Governors. “He has focused on fostering excellence in student experience and post-secondary education; promoting community development and partnerships; and supporting the skills, knowledge and talent development needed for economic competitiveness and job creation.”
Dr. Fearon, who served as president at Brock University (2017 – 2021) and Brandon University (2014 – 2017), is known for his strong leadership skills, his commitment to diversity and inclusion, and his reputation as a community-builder. He has held numerous progressive roles in post-secondary education, and, according to Costante, is “a collaborative, inclusive, vision-oriented and mission-driven leader, with all the skills and experience to propel George Brown into the future.”
Please join us in welcoming our new president, and stay tuned for more details about Dr. Fearon.
