George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.
The George Brown College community joins Canadians in honouring the life and exceptional service of Queen Elizabeth II.
An enduring presence in the lives of many Canadians, Queen Elizabeth demonstrated grace and fortitude throughout her historic 70-year reign.
The flag at St. James Campus has been lowered to half-mast in honour of Canada’s longest-reigning Sovereign.
“At George Brown College, we are greatly saddened to learn of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, who leaves behind an incredible legacy of leadership and public service,” George Brown College President Dr. Gervan Fearon said. “I know people across the country will cherish the memories of her many visits, including seven to Toronto, most recently in 2010.”
