SafeWalk is back for the 2026-2027 school year!

SafeWalk is a free walk accompaniment service for all George Brown Polytechnic students, staff, and visitors. We operate in the evening on all campuses, from Monday to Friday. SafeWalk is a service by the Student Association of George Brown. Visit the SafeWalk website.

Good to Know

  • Walks are free and unlimited
  • No name or ID needed – just tell our staff that you want a walk and where
  • You can use an alias in the booking form instead of your real name.
  • SafeWalk is not a security service – it’s a walk accompaniment service only. Two staff will walk with you.
  • Staff can remove their yellow vests for the duration of your walk – ask them (it’s called an incognito walk.)
  • We walk in all weather conditions so long as it’s safe to do so – rain, snow, hot, cold, windy
  • We can carry extra bags as long as they’re not too heavy (and you ask nicely)
  • You can start your walk right up to closing time – the walk will continue to your destination even though the location has since closed (see above for locations and times)
  • Closed on weekends and when the college is closed
