External counselling services

  • Stella’s Place
    Stella's Place provides comprehensive mental health services for 16- to 29-year-olds in downtown Toronto.
  • What’s Up Walk In
    Free virtual mental health counselling for children, youth, young adults, and their families is available on a drop-in basis; no appointment is necessary.
  • Family Services of Toronto
    Single-session counselling (virtual or in-person) is available to all persons 18 years of age and older who live and work in the GTA. Registration is required by calling 416-595-9618. 
  • JACS Toronto – Courage2Change
    Mental health and wellness support for post-secondary students under 30 years old across Ontario who are struggling with mental health, wellness, substance use and abuse, and/or behavioural addictions. Programming includes individual counselling and free online groups. They offer sliding scale individual counselling, free groups, and confidential, barrier-free care with no waitlist.

  • Helpguide
    Empower yourself through education with comprehensive articles about wellness and mental health written by health professionals.
  • Depression Hurts
    Tools for recognizing depression in yourself or others, accepting help, and paving a path for improvement, as well as a discussion form and more external options.
  • Mindshift CBT app
    A free self-guided cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) app for programming and community engagement to help you take control of anxiety and depression.
  • Now Matters Now
    Free mental health resources and peer-led storytelling spaces for connection and coping. Resources and videos are rooted in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).  

Resources for Black students

We recognize that systemic anti-Black racism is a significant barrier to accessing quality mental health services for Black students and the broader Black community. We acknowledge the long-lasting trauma that results from anti-Black racism and that such consequences are often intergenerational.

We strive to work closely with Black staff and faculty, community partners, and students to ensure continuous improvement of our services so that we can continue to provide quality and affirming mental health and well-being-related services.
