Tanya Unger-Brockley

Biography

Tanya Unger-Brockley is a freelance designer/art director with over 20 years experience. She is proud to be an alumni of George Brown Polytechnic, graduating in 1996 with a Diploma in Graphic Design. Upon graduation, she started her career as a typesetter for what is now known as Metroland Media Group. In 1997 she moved on to in-house designer & assistant art director with Maclean Hunter, later known as Rogers Publishing. In 2004, she made the decision to become a freelancer through her self-owned design business. Tanya is a firm believer that every design challenge, whether large or small, can be solved through teamwork and a positive attitude.

Tanya began her teaching career at George Brown Polytechnic School of Fashion and Jewellery in 2018. She is an instructor of Adobe Illustrator. She brings with her a love of design and problem solving to an ever changing application through the medium of fashion and she enjoys watching all of her students grow in confidence and skill with each new lesson.

Tanya has a love of nature as seen through photography and in recent years has been chosen to exhibit her work through the Toronto Public Library. She has also organized and taught photography lessons for children (ages 6-12) in both private and public school settings.
