Biography
A Toronto native, Clea Iveson began her dance training at Mrs. Daniels School of Dance in Toronto at the age four. She continued her studies at the National Ballet School, the Joan Kohal School of Dance, and the Lois Smith School of Dance. She graduated from the School of Dance at George Brown (now George Brown Dance) before accepting an apprentice position with Canada’s Jörgen Dance in 1991.
Clea Iveson has been with Canada’s Jörgen Dance for 27 years, including as a full-time dancer. Her work has included the creation of 55 original dance works, six full-length ballets, and four original children’s ballets. She has appeared on stage in 190 different Canadian communities and danced in over 1,400 performances. For the last 16 years Clea has also managed and developed the Education Programming for the company and remains an important part of the creative team for the development of new ballets.
In her current role as Education Manager, Clea is responsible for honing and developing the company’s programs to inspire young dancers and dance enthusiasts. This includes managing the full-time dance programs at George Brown Polytechnic, Canada’s Jörgen Dance National Education Programs (local participants programs, master classes, workshops), and Summer Programs. She also continues to dance character roles in various company performances.

Other Activities
Clea teaches in Jörgen Dance’s Summer Dance, Youth Participant and Master Class Programs – engaging with youth dancers across Canada. She is one of the Master of Ceremonies for Jörgen Dance’s informative and interactive Ballet 101 program, that reaches new audiences with dance.
