George Brown Polytechnic's Practical Nursing program will teach you the foundational skills required to work as a registered practical nurse in Ontario. Following successful completion of this program, you will be eligible to write the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Registration Examinations – two qualifying examinations required by the Ontario College of Nurses.

The practice-oriented and hands-on Orthotic/Prosthetic Technician program will teach you to be competent with many hand tools and specialized machines used in the fabrication of orthotic and prosthetic devices.

The Office Administration – Health Services program will help you develop the specialized skills needed to work in a variety of health-care settings. You’ll learn relevant technological skills like computer applications and specialized software, medical terminology, clinical and office procedures, effective oral and written communication skills and soft skills such as interpersonal skills, teamwork and customer service.

The Social Service Worker (Accelerated) program will provide you with the opportunity to learn theoretical models, group facilitation, mental health support, values, ethics and professional practice, and anti-oppressive practice. Please note that while the program is classroom-based, a few specific courses offer online sections to enhance access.

You can apply to this accelerated program if you have a diploma or degree related to social or community work.

Graduates of this program are eligible to register with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

If you apply to this program's 2025/26 intake, you will start in May 2026. To begin your studies in May 2025, apply to the 2024/25 academic year.

The Social Service Worker diploma program combines in-class learning with field experience to teach you the skills you need to succeed. George Brown Polytechnic’s part-time Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma program will prepare you to work as a trained early childhood professional. In this part-time program, you will study in the evenings taking one to three courses per semester. Upon completion of this program, you will be eligible for entrance to Ontario’s College of Early Childhood Educators. This is a requirement for anyone wanting to work as an Early Childhood Educator in the province of Ontario.

The two-year General Arts and Science diploma program will help you strengthen your academic skills and refine your goals for further post-secondary studies. Through our articulation agreements with several universities, you’ll be able to enter many degree programs with advanced standing. As part of this program, you’ll take a wide range of required courses in the arts, humanities, social sciences and sciences. You’ll also get to choose two liberal studies electives to broaden your thinking and analytical skills.

The Business – Human Resources two-year diploma program provides you with a practical approach to human resources management, giving you a competitive advantage in today’s people-centred workplaces. This program will prepare you for a variety of entry-level positions in human resource departments.

The Business two-year diploma program will give you the tools you need to perform business functions at a local, national and global level. As a graduate of this program, you’ll come away with a practical understanding of key business concepts and can look forward to exciting employment opportunities like a customer service representative, junior business analyst or scheduling coordinator.

The Business – Accounting two-year diploma program teaches students fundamental accounting concepts and practices, as well as broad-based business skills. As a graduate of this program, you can look forward to an exciting career in dynamic business sectors like merchandising, government offices, financial institutions and manufacturing.

Our two-year Fashion Business Industry diploma program offers a blend of business management and technical skills necessary for small- to medium-sized businesses in the apparel fashion industry. This entrepreneurial-focused program will guide you through crafting a comprehensive business plan essential to launching or managing a business. You'll gain an understanding of textiles, garment construction, quality criteria and apparel merchandising while learning to apply marketing, accounting, financial and other business concepts essential for thriving in the fashion business industry.

The Fashion Management two-year diploma program offers a comprehensive and hands-on approach to learning about the fashion industry. By gaining knowledge in marketing, merchandising, textiles, manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics, students will develop the skills needed to succeed in the apparel industry. The opportunity to manage an on-campus retail store and participate in a field education experience will provide valuable real-world experience. The Fashion Techniques and Design two-year diploma program prepares you for an exciting career in garment design and manufacturing. This women's wear program focuses on pattern drafting and sewing skills. You will use industrial machines and learn the essentials of technical illustration, pattern making, pattern grading and clothing construction. Additional core subjects include textiles, technical specifications and history of costume.

This two-year Architectural Technician diploma program will prepare you to work alongside architects, designers, contractors and builders. Our two-year Computer Systems Technician (Online) diploma program is designed to give you a broad and in-depth technical base. It focuses on the high-demand areas of system support, network administration and web technologies, ensuring that you acquire the skills most sought after in the IT industry. Upon graduation, you’ll have the strong administration, troubleshooting, and design skills you need for a successful career in IT.

This program is entirely online, including lectures, exams and class projects. You'’ll be able to:
