George Brown Polytechnic’s part-time Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma program will prepare you to work as a trained early childhood professional. In this part-time program, you will study in the evenings taking one to three courses per semester. Upon completion of this program, you will be eligible for entrance to Ontario’s College of Early Childhood Educators. This is a requirement for anyone wanting to work as an Early Childhood Educator in the province of Ontario.

The Early Childhood Education (Fast-Track) program is for graduates with a diploma or degree in a related field. This fast-track stream will prepare you for a rewarding career working with children from six weeks to 12 years of age in a variety of early childhood education settings.

The Early Childhood Education (Consecutive Diploma/Degree) (C118) program is a joint offering with Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). In just four years, you will earn both a Diploma from George Brown and Degree from TMU. Launch your career in early childhood education with both a diploma and a degree in just four years.

George Brown's Early Childhood Education (Accelerated) program will prepare you for a rewarding career in a rapidly evolving sector. This condensed, 16-month version of our two-year diploma program will teach you to work with children from six weeks to 12 years of age in a variety of early childhood education settings.

George Brown's Early Childhood Education Diploma program will prepare you for a rewarding career in a rapidly evolving sector. In this 16-month online program stream, you will learn to work with children from six weeks to 12 years of age in a variety of early childhood education settings. Students will complete four in-person field placements. 

The Community Worker (Accelerated) program will prepare you to work for progressive social change with organizations, communities and individuals across a range of issues such as poverty, housing, legal rights, discrimination, food justice, immigration and refugee settlement.

Apply to this accelerated stream, a condensed version of the two-year Community Worker (C101) program, if you have an existing diploma or degree.

To begin your studies in May 2026, apply to the 2025/26 intake for this program. To begin your studies in May 2025, apply to the 2024/25 academic year.

The Fashion Management two-year diploma program offers a comprehensive and hands-on approach to learning about the fashion industry. By gaining knowledge in marketing, merchandising, textiles, manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics, students will develop the skills needed to succeed in the apparel industry. The opportunity to manage an on-campus retail store and participate in a field education experience will provide valuable real-world experience.
