The School of Architectural Studies’ (SAS) three-year Architectural Technology program prepares students to develop into architectural technologists who play a key role in transforming architectural designs into technical construction documents and practical building solutions. This multi-year program equips students with a solid foundation in building design, construction methods, materials, building codes and regulations, sustainable practices, digital practices and software in CAD, digital project delivery, and 3D visualization as well as the latest digital technologies such as 3D laser scanning, digital photogrammetry and aerial reality capture using drones.

Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on studio projects, students develop technical skills in preparing drawings, specifications, cost estimates and other documentation required for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional building projects. The curriculum covers areas such as building science, project management, detailing, site planning and the integration of various building systems.

Graduates are trained to collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors and other professionals in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. They contribute to the design process, construction documentation, project coordination and on-site supervision. The program prepares students for entry-level roles such as architectural technologists, digital project delivery co-ordinators, junior designers, estimators and project coordinators in various roles within the architecture, engineering and construction industries, as well as government agencies, and related organizations, contributing to the successful execution of building projects from concept to completion.

This two-year Architectural Technician diploma program will prepare you to work alongside architects, designers, contractors and builders. As an architectural technician, you’ll be part of designing and developing buildings that define our living and working environments, using sustainable building practices and constructability techniques.

The three-year Interior Design advanced diploma program prepares you for a future in the interior design industry. This program not only helps you become a valuable member of a design team, but also gives you life skills that go well beyond the world of design.

Each semester, your main studio courses teach you how to develop conceptual designs for residential and commercial spaces, how to represent designs in 2D and 3D using a broad range of architectural drawing programs and how to communicate design intentions using construction drawings. In your project work, you’ll incorporate building code, sustainability, accessibility, lighting, textiles, furniture, colour and ergonomics. Although selection of finishes is part of what we do, this is not a decorating program.

With more businesses putting their data into the cloud, the ability to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of digital assets is vital to their success and survival. Cyber security professionals are critical in protecting business assets in all areas of our economy, and we created the Cyber Security one-year graduate certificate program to meet the high demand for cyber security and related IT security professionals across multiple sectors – including consulting services, finance and health care.

To keep pace with the rapid advancement in technology and trends, today’s cyber security professionals must be proficient in traditional networking and cloud-based technologies while possessing strong communication skills. They must also be up to date with security trends and practices, the legal landscape and ethical hacking. This program will give you the knowledge you need to succeed in this exciting field.

The two-semester Digital Product Management program equips you with essential skills for managing and analyzing digital products through interdisciplinary approaches. You'll gain expertise in leading digital product development, conducting market research, defining product requirements, and engaging in strategic analysis throughout a product’s life cycle.

As digital transformation reshapes business operations and innovation, this program prepares you to drive success in this dynamic and growing field.

The one-year Cloud Computing Technologies graduate certificate program will give you a broad, in-depth technical base through system and network administration courses, cloud productivity tools and cloud computing design and security. You’ll learn by using the leading cloud providers, like Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS. By the end of this program, you’ll be armed with the practical skills and experience you need to succeed as a cloud-computing pro.

If you apply to the May 2025/26 intake for this program, you will start in May 2026.

In our innovative Applied A.I. Solutions Development one-year graduate certificate program, you’ll immerse yourself in a cross-disciplinary blend of computer science, mathematics and business, equipping you with the expertise to craft solutions across industries using artificial intelligence (A.I.), machine learning, deep learning and data science/analytics.

This unique program merges computer science, math and business with a design-thinking approach to produce machine-learning/deep-learning models and intuitive dashboards to communicate results and findings. As a student, you’ll also receive comprehensive training in tailoring your presentations to target audiences, including technical experts, business stakeholders and potential investors.

The Computer Programming and Analysis (Online) three-year advanced diploma program offers comprehensive programming and IT analysis training. As a graduate of this program, you’ll have a solid foundation to advance your career in the dynamic and constantly evolving world of IT.

This program is fully online, including lectures, exams and class projects. This allows you to:

• Study online from the comfort of home while joining other students across Canada in live, instructor-led classes.
• Access the knowledge and expertise of faculty members embedded in Toronto’s rapidly growing tech industry.
• Develop professional skills in a format convenient to you and your busy weekday commitments.

PLEASE NOTE: This is an online-only program open to domestic students. Regular in-person delivery and international eligibility are available through our Computer Programming and Analysis (T177) program.

Upon graduation, you’ll have the strong administration, troubleshooting, and design skills you need for a successful career in IT.

This program is entirely online, including lectures, exams and class projects. You'’ll be able to:

Our three-year Construction Engineering Technology advanced diploma program will provide you with the technical, business and interpersonal skills needed to manage construction projects of varying sizes and complexity, while emphasizing sustainable construction practices.

This three-year Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology advanced diploma program provides you with an understanding of the factors involved in designing, building, controlling and maintaining energy-efficient building environmental systems. The first two years of the program will give you practical skills through hands-on projects in the shops. You’ll work on a wide range of furnaces, air conditioners, refrigeration equipment and other appliances in our labs. In the third year, you’ll focus more on commercial systems, giving you a well-rounded knowledge base to succeed in the HVAC industry.
