It is our intention to offer our own independent Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours) degree program at George Brown Polytechnic in Fall 2026. We are currently seeking the required approvals, and updates will be posted on the George Brown website. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is offered collaboratively between George Brown Polytechnic, Toronto Metropolitan University, and Centennial College. This four-year degree is a requirement for anyone wishing to work as a registered nurse in the province of Ontario. This program, offered across all three sites, provides diverse clinical placements, simulation-based education and interactive teaching and learning. Graduates can write the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), apply for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and pursue nursing positions in a variety of health-care settings. The Registered Nurse – Critical Care Nursing Program is a one-semester graduate certificate program that prepares Registered Nurses to transition to critical care settings to provide safe, competent care to critically ill individuals and their families. | |||||
George Brown Polytechnic's Practical Nursing program will teach you the foundational skills required to work as a registered practical nurse in Ontario. Registered Nurse – Operating Room Perioperative Nursing (Postgraduate S414) is a graduate certificate program for Registered Nurses. The Personal Support Worker (PSW) program will teach you the skills required to provide or assist with personal care for the elderly, the chronically ill and persons with accessibility challenges. These patients may live in the community, in long-term care facilities or in select ambulatory care settings. Classes for this two-semester program are held at our state-of-the-art Daphne Cockwell Centre for Health Sciences at Waterfront Campus and are scheduled between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. Students can expect to participate in unpaid faculty-supervised clinical practicums that take place in various settings across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Shift hours may vary between day and/or evenings depending upon the practice setting and may start as early as 6:30 a.m. | |||||
