What is the Foundations in Banking certificate?

This certificate provides Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) youth with educational resources and career pathways in business administration and financial services. At the end of the program, graduates receive a George Brown Polytechnic certificate of completion and are given consideration to be recruited by RBC.

There has been an overwhelming demand for this certificate and we are no longer accepting applicants. If you're still interested in pursuing a certificate, we recommend looking at the business programs. Additionally, you may want to connect with the Better Jobs Ontario initiative to learn more about retraining opportunities.

Opening doors to the business and financial services industry

  • The program is designed to remove barriers for BIPOC youth who currently live on a low income or are unemployed/underemployed.
  • Scholarships are offered by the Pinball Clemons Foundation
  • RBC's Payments & Trade operations team offers an internship.
  • Students are connected with community-led mentorships facilitated by Ahead of the Game.
