PLAR Submission Deadline for the Winter 2026 Term.

Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) Website: georgebrown.ca/plar/

Registration Dates for the Winter 2026 Term Are Posted on STU-VIEW by 9:00 a.m.

Check STU-VIEW for your program's registration start date/time. Online registration for Winter 2026 is staggered and begins on Monday, November 17, 2025.

November 2025

Fees Deposit Is Due for the Winter 2026 Term (New students)

New students—and students who are beginning a new program—must pay the fee deposit by this date to hold their seats for January 2026.

Online Registration Begins for the Winter 2026 Term

Check STU-VIEW for staggered registration times to see when you can start to register. Registration start dates/times will be posted by October 27, 2025.
 

Be sure to register for all required courses each semester. You may register yourself online via STU-VIEW or by contacting the Registration Department.

First Day to Drop Courses Online for the Winter 2026 Term (if your registration time is open)

For most programs, students are permitted to drop courses online via STU-VIEW up until the Withdrawal Without Academic Penalty deadline.

Please note: It is your responsibility to ensure that you are registered for all required courses.

Always seeks Academic Advising prior to dropping courses.

College Closed for Holiday Break

The College will close on Tuesday, December 23 at 5:00 p.m. and will re-open on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. 

UPDATE: Winter semester classes start on January 12, 2026.

Last Day to Write Placement Assessment for Communications & Math for the Winter 2026 Term (First Year Students ONLY)

Placement Assessment scores help us determine whether you are ready to take the college-level credit courses in communications and/or math in the first semester, or if you need to take a foundation-level course first to further develop your skills.

You can book your placement test(s) online via STU-VIEW. For more information, visit the Assessment Centre website.

Winter 2026 Term Starts (Classes Begin)
Registration for Part-Time Day Courses Accepted for the Winter 2026 Term.

Contact the Registration Department for assistance.

Last Day to Add a Course to Your Schedule for the Winter 2026 Term – FULL SEMESTER (15-week courses) & SESSION 1 (7-week courses)

Log into your STU-VIEW account to add courses to your schedule.

Last Day to Transfer to a Different Program or Section for the Winter 2026 Term.

You may transfer to a different section within your program online via STU-VIEW if permitted.

To transfer to a different program, please contact your Academic Divisional Office for assistance.

Academic Progress Reports (Degree Works) for Winter 2026 Are Now Available for Review.

Login to your STU-VIEW account and select Credential Audit from the Main Menu to view your Academic Progress Report (Degree Works).

Balance of Fees Due for the Winter 2026 Term for all students.

This due date applies to all post secondary students, including OSAP and Better Jobs Ontario applicants.

Important: 
A non-refundable late charge will be applied if fees are not received by this date.

Last Day to Withdraw from an Entire Program with a Partial Refund for the Winter 2026 Term.

This deadline date is strictly enforced.

If you are a domestic student, please withdraw from your program online via STU-VIEW – you will be required to provide a reason for withdrawal. Otherwise, please contact the Registration Department to request a withdrawal from your program; your written request must be submitted by the deadline.

Always seek Academic Advising prior to withdrawing from a program.

Last Day to Drop a Course from Your Schedule for the Winter 2026 Term – FULL SEMESTER (15-week courses) & SESSION 1 (7-week courses).

For most programs, students can drop courses online via STU-VIEW. Otherwise, please contact the Registration Department to drop a course from your schedule.

Important: Students who drop more than two courses may fall into part-time status, which can impact tuition fees as well as OSAP eligibility. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are registered for all required courses.

Always seek Academic Advising prior to dropping courses.

Last Day to Opt in or Opt out from the Student Health Insurance Plan for the Winter 2026 Term (For Students are eligible for the domestic plan or the international post secondary plan with effective day on January 1, 2026 ONLY).

Last Day to Change Your Flex Plan Under the Extended Health and Dental Coverage for the Winter 2026 Term (For Students are eligible for the domestic plan or the international post secondary plan with effective day on January 1, 2026 ONLY).

To add a course to your schedule for SESSION 2, please contact the Registration Department once you have received approval from your academic department.

Students wishing to appeal a grade have 10 business days from this date to initiate an appeal. Please refer to the Academic Appeals Policy for details.
