Accessible Library Services with the LLC

The Library Learning Commons offers services that enable library users who have a disability to access library services and resources effectively. Our goal is to make all learning materials and services accessible.

Please inform library staff when you experience accessibility barriers and let us know how we can make library services more accessible to you. You can reach us in person, by phone, via e-mail, or through live chat & text, and provide feedback through our Accessible Library Services survey.

Accessible Library Services include:

Library E-Resources Accessibility Portal (LEAP)

The Library E-Resources Accessibility Portal (LEAP) is an assessment tool that was developed to assist library staff in upholding accessibility best practices for electronic resources and achieving compliance with the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

This assessment tool allows library staff at participating institutions to evaluate the accessibility of their e-resources and provides a repository of accessibility assessment reports that library staff can review to help make acquisition decisions, support library users, and advocate for accessible e-resources.

LEAP accessibility scores for GBC LLC e-resources can now be found in our research guides database listings. This information had previously been available to library staff only and we are now the first college to make this information available to students, staff, and the GBC community.
