George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.
How to Place a Hold on an Item
You can request to have a library item put on hold for you and you will be notified when it becomes available. Please note that you cannot place holds on tech equipment, reserve items (i.e. short term loans), journals, magazines, videos, or DVDs.
You must be logged into your library account (My Account), to place a hold; this is how the system knows who the item is for. You can either log in first and then search the library catalogue for an item, or you can find your item first and you'll then be asked to log in before placing the hold.
When your hold is ready to be picked up, you will be contacted; email notices will be sent to your GBP email account. Be sure to check your email regularly for a pickup notice. Items will be held at the Circulation/Help Desk at the LLC location of your choosing for a total of 7 days, then will be released back into the collection if not picked up.
