All full-time GBC faculty have access to Brightspace. Go to learn.georgebrown.ca and use your usual GBC log-in credentials for access. If you cannot access Brightspace, contact the Help Desk. See “Getting Help” for more information about support.

Brightspace Login

Sandbox

A Brightspace Sandbox is assigned to each individual with a Brightspace account. It is a place to learn and practice new tools and techniques, and a place to create new content that will be used in your courses.

All full-time faculty should have a Brightspace Sandbox in their account. If you do not have a sandbox, send an email to helpdesk@georgebrown.ca. Be sure to include “D2L Brightspace” in your email subject line to be triaged to the right support. Include your full name and employee ID in your message.

Part-time faculty can request access and a sandbox by sending an email request to helpdesk@georgebrown.ca. Be sure to include “D2L Brightspace” in your email subject line to be triaged to the right support. Include your full name and employee ID in your message.

Development (DEV) Shells

DEV Shells are shells that can be used and shared among faculty who are developing new courses. They are tied to a particular course code. To request a DEV Shell, send an email request to helpdesk@georgebrown.ca. Be sure to include “D2L Brightspace” in your email subject line to be triaged to the right support. Include your full name and employee ID in your message and the course code in your message.
