How to sign in to MS Teams

You might have a MS Teams account associated with your personal email or other work email (you can switch between different MS Teams accounts by using different logins) or have used your GBC email SSO to login.

Before joining any GBC meeting, use the Single Sign On (SSO). Microsoft 365 to sign into the MS Teams.

Accessing Microsoft Teams

Option 1: Desktop

(Recommended)

  1. Download the Microsoft Teams app on your computer (Desktop -  Windows or macOS).  
  2. Log in using your George Brown Polytechnic credentials:  
  • Username: employeeID@georgebrown.ca  
  • Password: Your George Brown password 

Option 2: Web Browser via Microsoft 365

(Limited Functionality, Not Recommended)

  1. Access Microsoft 365 and sign in with your GBC login credentials:  
  • Username: employeeID@georgebrown.ca  
  • Password: Your George Brown password  
  1. Select Apps on the left menu.  
  2. Select the Teams app.  

Option 3: Mobile

(Limited Functionality, Not Recommended)

  1. Download the Microsoft Teams app on mobile.  
  2. Log in using your George Brown Polytechnic credentials:  
  • Username: employeeID@georgebrown.ca  
  • Password: Your George Brown password 

Differences between options 1 - 3

The desktop app offers the most optimized experience for both faculty and students. While it requires the extra step of logging in through the app, this option provides full access to chat features, breakout rooms, and screen sharing. 

Please remind your students to log in to Microsoft Teams before joining a meeting.
