Explore recommended approaches and tools for sharing course content with your students effectively and efficiently.

Brightspace is the primary platform for sharing course materials with students.

You can upload files, organize content, and provide access to resources in a consistent and centralized location.

Use the Get Help feature in Brightspace (bottom right corner) for step-by-step support with tasks such as adding files or creating content.

Tip: Be mindful of file sizes. Large files can impact loading times and accessibility for students.

All faculty and students at George Brown Polytechnic have access to Microsoft 365, including:

These tools support file sharing, collaboration, and group work.

Uploading large video files directly to Brightspace is not recommended due to bandwidth limitations.

Instead:

When students are required to submit video assignments:

Ask students to upload videos to YouTube, OneDrive, or another hosting platform
Have them submit a link instead of uploading files directly to Brightspace

This helps reduce technical issues and improves accessibility.

Tip for engagement:
Use Brightspace discussion forums to have students share their video links and provide peer feedback.

You may choose to share content through blogs, websites, or other external platforms.

When using external tools:

Ensure content is easy to access for all students.
Avoid requiring multiple logins or complex navigation.
Always provide links within Brightspace so students can access everything in one place.
