George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.
Thinking about recording educational videos? This guide walks you through how to record, edit, and share video content using Clipchamp, the primary video creation tool supported at George Brown Polytechnic.
Create Your Video
1. Record Content
Use Clipchamp (Microsoft 365) to record your videos. It includes built-in screen and camera recording, allowing you to create content directly in your browser.
- Best for recording lectures, demonstrations, and short instructional videos
Optional tools (not institutionally supported):
- Loom
- ScreenPal
If you don’t see it in your account, please contact: helpdesk@georgebrown.ca.
2. Edit Content
Clipchamp is a browser-based video editing tool available through Microsoft 365 and Stream. It is the primary tool supported at George Brown Polytechnic for creating and editing video content.
Use Clipchamp to:
- Record your screen and camera
- Edit videos in one place
- Create accessible and engaging learning materials

- Share the video link with students
Refer to the Clipchamp guide above in Step 2 for step-by-step instructions.
4. Post a Link on BrightSpace
Add your video link to your course:
- Go to Upload/Create → Create Link
- Paste your video link
- Click Create
Refer to the Clipchamp guide above in Step 2 for step-by-step instructions on sharing and posting your video
