Sustainable Innovation Panel - TMU
Toronto Metropolitan University’s Social Ventures Zone (SVZ) is bringing together students, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders through its Scaling Solutions for Climate event series during Toronto Climate Week 2026. The initiative focuses on advancing sustainable innovation and empowering the next generation of climate changemakers.
A key feature of the event is a student case competition in partnership with KPMB Architects and Seafoam Materials, a Vancouver-based startup creating low-carbon insulation products from seaweed and recycled waste. Students will explore how sustainable building materials can scale through stronger and more resilient supply chains.
The event also includes a panel and Q&A session where experts will discuss climate entrepreneurship, circular economies, and the future of sustainable infrastructure. Through hands-on collaboration and industry engagement, TMU continues to create opportunities for students to contribute to real-world climate solutions.
