Calling All Story-tellers!
STORYHIVE is providing grants of $10,000 each to produce a locally reflective nonfiction video series. We’re seeking stories that capture the voice, personality and experiences of communities across Western Canada. Projects may be featured on TELUS platforms, including TELUS Optik TV On Demand and STORYHIVE’s YouTube channel. We have introduced a tiered grant system for returning creators. Season 2 grants will be $12,500, and Season 3 grants will be $15,000.
Program Dates:
- Applications open: January 13th, 2026 at 12:00 am PT
- Applications close: February 20th, 2026 at 11:59 pm PT
- Recipients announced: June 10th, 2026
- Production starts: August 3rd, 2026
Project Requirements:
Each project must include episodic, locally reflective video content. All projects must have synchronized audio and video elements.
- Season 1 must consist of a minimum of 6 episodes and a minimum of 150 minutes.
- Season 2 must consist of a minimum of 8 episodes and a minimum of 200 minutes.
- Season 3 must consist of a minimum of 10 episodes and a minimum of 250 minutes.
Examples of eligible projects, but not limited to:
- A how-to series
- A lifestyle or fitness series
- Children's content
- Educational shows
- Cooking shows
- Variety Shows
