George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.

YCEO, offered by Business in the Streets (BITS), is an 8-week entrepreneurship program designed for young adults aged 18 to 34 who want to turn a business idea into reality. The program is completely free and provides practical training, mentorship, and support to help early-stage founders build confidence and momentum.
Through weekly sessions, participants learn the fundamentals of starting a business, including idea development, customer discovery, marketing basics, financial planning, and pitching. The program is delivered virtually, with some hybrid options in specific regions, making it accessible to aspiring entrepreneurs across Canada.
A key benefit of YCEO is the one-on-one mentorship. Each participant is paired with a mentor who provides guidance, accountability, and real-world advice throughout the program. Graduates finish with a clearer business plan and a stronger sense of direction. Eligible participants who are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents may also qualify for up to $2,000 in grant funding to support their business or professional development.
YCEO is ideal for anyone who has a business idea they want to explore, or an early-stage venture that needs structure and support to grow. The program creates a welcoming community where young founders can learn from experienced entrepreneurs and connect with peers who share similar goals.
Applications are open now, and spaces fill quickly. If you’re ready to take your idea seriously and want guidance from people who understand the entrepreneurial journey, YCEO is a great place to start.
