George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.

How we Protect Academic Integrity
To ensure fairness for all test takers, the Assessment Centre uses a range of standardized procedures, including:

- Trained invigilation and supervision during testing
- Storage of all personal belongings
- Monitoring measures, which include cameras in some testing areas
- Documenting any breaks in test writing or instances of student leaving the test area
Using materials appropriately
Only materials and aids that have been approved by your instructor or accommodation plan may be used during testing. This includes both electronic and non-electronic tools.
Unauthorized use of technology, notes, pre-prepared work, generative AI tools, or assistance from others is not permitted.
If There is a Concern About Academic Integrity
If a concern arises during a test, Assessment Centre staff are required to document and report it. Staff may also collect or record any unauthorized materials, as well as stop and collect the test.
Decisions about outcomes or penalties are made by the appropriate academic area, such as your instructor, Admissions, or an external institution. Assessment Centre staff do not determine academic penalties or next steps.
