Apprenticeship Trade Exemption

Apprenticeship Trade Exemption exams allow you to skip mandatory in-class technical training in your trade program if you can demonstrate that you already have the required knowledge and on-the-job experience.

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) has authorized community colleges to administer the Apprenticeship Trade Exemption exams.

If you successfully complete a trade exemption exam, you may be exempt from some of the formal in-class instruction required for your apprenticeship.

Further information is available from the MLITSD Training Office at 416-326-5800.
