The Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee (AIAC) is a subcommittee of the Technology Management Committee (TMC). Its purpose is to provide cross-functional advice, review, and governance support on artificial intelligence matters at George Brown Polytechnic.
AIAC supports institutional alignment, responsible adoption, and coordinated decision-making related to AI across the Polytechnic. This includes advising on the development, review, and refresh of the AI Plan and Roadmap, as well as broader AI-related priorities, risks, opportunities, standards, and governance considerations.
The Committee will review, advise on, recommend, and/or monitor major topics and activities related to artificial intelligence at George Brown Polytechnic, including:
- institutional AI priorities, opportunities, risks, and readiness considerations
- AI-related governance approaches, planning assumptions, standards, and frameworks
- significant AI-related proposals, initiatives, or issues referred to the Committee
- emerging issues related to AI use across academic and corporate divisions
- institutional considerations related to AI in academics, teaching and learning, student experience, operations, data, privacy, cybersecurity, accessibility, equity, communications, and workforce readiness
- recommendations to TMC on AI-related plans, priorities, standards, and other strategic matters requiring approval, endorsement, or further direction
