AI Advisory Committee

Main Content

The Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee (AIAC) is a subcommittee of the Technology Management Committee (TMC). The committee's purpose is to provide cross-functional advice, review, and governance support on artificial intelligence matters at George Brown Polytechnic.

AIAC supports institutional alignment, responsible adoption, and coordinated decision-making related to AI across the Polytechnic. This includes advising on the development, review, and refresh of the AI Plan and Roadmap, as well as broader AI-related priorities, risks, opportunities, standards, and governance considerations.

The Committee will review, advise on, recommend, and/or monitor major topics and activities related to artificial intelligence at George Brown Polytechnic, including:

  • institutional AI priorities, opportunities, risks, and readiness considerations
  • AI-related governance approaches, planning assumptions, standards, and frameworks
  • significant AI-related proposals, initiatives, or issues referred to the Committee
  • emerging issues related to AI use across academic and corporate divisions
  • institutional considerations related to AI in academics, teaching and learning, student experience, operations, data, privacy, cybersecurity, accessibility, equity, communications, and workforce readiness
  • recommendations to TMC on AI-related plans, priorities, standards, and other strategic matters requiring approval, endorsement, or further direction

AIAC brings together members from across academic and non-academic areas of the Polytechnic to support a coordinated, responsible, and institutionally aligned approach to AI.
