2027 College and Community Social Innovation Fund: Submit an expression of interest.
The Office of Research and Innovation is launching the 2027 NSERC College and Community Social Innovation Fund (CCSIF) competition at George Brown Polytechnic.
CCSIF funding supports applied research projects that address community challenges through partnerships with community organizations while providing meaningful student learning opportunities. It is strongly recommended that all potential applicants attend at least one ORI-led info session (see below) before submitting an EOI to gain a better understand of this opportunity.
As NSERC limits each institution to five applications, George Brown conducts an internal Expression of Interest (EOI) process to identify the strongest research ideas that will be submitted to NSERC.
What Happens Next
Projects selected through the George Brown EOI process will receive proposal development support from the Office of Research & Innovation through the NSERC submission deadline in February 2027, including proposal development, budget preparation, internal review, and institutional approvals. NSERC has not announced next year's guidelines but we will update as more details become available.
CCSIF EOI Information Sessions will be held every Thursday from September 3 to October 8, from 12pm to 2pm, in person at 185 Queens Quay E., 8th Floor, Room 833 and online via the links below. Researchers are also welcome to drop in or book a virtual session at another time for individual guidance and support with their EOI.
