George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.
Strategy 2030 builds on that work and sets a direction for greater opportunity and impact in the years ahead.
Building on a History of Impact
Opening doors to employment
Since 2004, our Augmented Education program, developed with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), has provided employment-focused education at no cost to people experiencing mental health or addiction challenges.
More than 600 students have graduated from the program, which helps participants prepare for and pursue work in food service and construction.
Graduates making a difference
Our graduates bring their skills into workplaces and communities near and far. For instance, in 2026, Strategic Relationship Marketing alumna Duygu Tasdan shared their expertise in personal branding and LinkedIn strategy with 200 students in Istanbul.
Their work is one example of how George Brown alumni continue to share their knowledge and build connections beyond campus.
Applied research with real-world value
In the 2025–26 academic year, George Brown researchers worked on 122 projects with industry and community organizations. Their work created 849 research experiences for students and contributed to the development of 260 new or improved products, services, technologies, and prototypes.
These collaborations connect learning and research with practical challenges facing industry and communities.
Contributing to Ontario's ecomony
An economic impact analysis using 2023–24 data estimated that George Brown Polytechnic contributed more than $3.2 billion to Ontario's economy and supported more than 22,800 jobs.
The analysis considered our operations, student and visitor spending, increased graduate earnings, and research and development activity.
