Your IELTS Test Day Journey
Step 1: Arrive at your venue. Registration opens between 8 and 8:30 am.
Step 2: You may find it preferable to use the washroom now, prior to step 3.
Step 3: Leave all your personal belongings (including coats, hats, bags and purses, wallets) in the cloakroom. Cellphones and watches are not permitted in the testing room. Pens will be provided. You are permitted to bring a clear, uncoloured plastic water bottle with the label removed into the testing room. You will have to do a metal detector wand scan at this time.
Step 4: Check-in using your Passport or Permanent Resident Card. If you arrive at check-in after 9:15 am you will not be permitted to write the test. If you do not bring your identification you will not be permitted to write the test.
Step 5: Do a finger-scan and have your photo taken.
Step 6: Enter the testing room.
Step 7: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm: Writing, Reading and Listening test.
Step 8: After the Writing, Reading and Listening tests conclude, collect your belongings in the cloakroom. You may leave but you will need to return for your Speaking test.
Step 9: Return 20-40 minutes before your Speaking test for check-in, finger scan and metal detector wand scan. Your Speaking test time is available online.
Step 10: Test ends. Once your test has concluded, you will scan your finger upon exit and collect your belongings.
