Canada’s Ballet Jörgen, a key collaborator with George Brown College since 1992, is officially rebranding to Jörgen Dance.
With this rebrand, George Brown graphic design students were able to get involved. Instrumental in the process, they helped create logos, brand guidelines and other assets for the new Jörgen Dance.
“It was great to collaborate with students and get their input on such an exciting project,” said Lori Endes, Lab & Project Coordinator, Centre for Arts, Design and Information Technology. “We’re thrilled with the final product, and that the students can add this experience to their resumes as valuable work experience.”
Under Jörgen Dance, many programs remain unchanged, but there is one exciting new project – the Jörgen Dance Virtual Dance Studio.
A library of videos taught by both the faculty and professional dancers at Jörgen Dance, these classes teach classical ballet techniques at the barre and on the floor. This new library of videos is geared towards pre-professional dancers, such as incoming GBC Dance students, but also budding dancers around the world.
“Lack of quality dance training is an acute issue for many remote communities and those unable to afford traditional training options,” Bengt Jörgen, co-founder, artistic director and CEO of Jörgen Dance, said. “This virtual studio offers a complete guide to dance training on demand in a cost-effective manner in the virtual sphere.”
