At Canada’s longest-running organic conference, a team from George Brown College showcased sustainable innovation underway at the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (CHCA).

In the heart of Toronto, within the lively performance spaces of George Brown College's School of Media & Performing Arts, Evan Alexander Smith's journey as a rising star began.

Check out the highlights of an amazing Black Futures Month at GBC! February was full of learning opportunities and events that enlightened and challenged the George Brown College (GBC) community.

The comprehensive seven-week program, delivered in collaboration with job-search platform Orbit 5, empowered GBC graduates across diverse fields by offering resources and insights essential for personal branding, job search strategies, and effective resume and cover letter writing.

Chef Raquel Fox graduated from George Brown College in 2016 with a culinary arts degree. Passionate about food Raquel founded Island Gurl Foods in 2018 and is deeply rooted in Caribbean food culture. Raquel brings you her grandmother's slow-cooked sauces with bold, rich, and authentic flavours made with quality ingredients.

Gueye is proof that if you have a dream, stick to it! She graduated from GBC's Construction Engineering Technician program in 1999 and landed her dream job in 2021. Now, she helps others find success in the skilled trades.

The GBC Theatre School grad's career took off early in the pandemic and continues to grow with new opportunities in the U.S., thanks to her work on the show "Slip," a streaming series from celebrity executive producer Dakota Johnson.

As part of George Brown College's (GBC) Black Futures Month celebrations, Hall reflected on his life during a fireside chat and book launch event at Waterfront Campus.
