The George Brown Theatre School has earned a national reputation for training highly skilled actors. Taught by notable theatre artists, students receive concentrated, career-oriented training in the fundamental skills and professionalism needed to work as professional actors in theatre, television and film.
What sets George Brown Theatre School apart from other theatre programs is its grounding in classical technique. Students are taught very specific skills that give them a unique advantage in a very competitive industry. George Brown students can switch from stage to screen to television to radio in a heartbeat because of their training.
Students follow an integrated curriculum in which all subjects are directly related to the acting profession. The courses, Acting I to V, explore a wide range of acting styles and periods such as classical, Elizabethan, Restoration, 19th century, naturalism, absurdism, clowning, masque and others.
A full season of plays provide
students in their graduating year the opportunity to apply their training and
to gain experience in the demands of full scale theatre production performance.
For more information on upcoming performances visit the George Brown Theatre Season of Plays page. Students experience a professional
theatre venue with our classrooms, studios and theatre spaces at the Young
Centre for the Performing Arts.
