Biography

Angie Gorassi is a passionate professor who is enthusiastic about her subject matter and the learning process. Utilizing adult education principles and respecting individual learning styles, she teaches courses in The School of Human Resources at both the diploma and post-graduate levels to students from diverse age ranges and various educational and cultural backgrounds utilizing adult education principles and respecting individual learning styles. She demonstrates excellence in content delivery and the creation of a positive learning environment through a variety of student-centered strategies and activities, integrating real workplace examples and experiences into the lesson. This enables the students to actively participate in the subject matter and get a sense of how the material will apply to their chosen field and aid them in their careers. She is knowledgeable about the many facets of human resources with a particular expertise in developing and auditing health and safety programs, and recruiting and selecting employees.

As Program Coordinator, Angie has been extensively involved in the academic and administration leadership and design of the George Brown College HR programs. She co-developed the post-graduate Human Resources Management program and all of its course curricula; co-developed a specialized program stream in training and development; designed the program pathway for both the two-year Human Resources program and three-year Business Administration diploma program with an HR specialty; and was instrumental in developing a collaborative HR and Labour Studies program with Brock University. She actively networks with industry representatives and is a member of the scholarships committee for the Toronto chapter of the Human Resources Professionals Association.
