What is a waiting list?

When all available spaces in a program are filled (based on competition) qualified applicants are placed on a waiting list. If spaces become available, the most qualified applicants on the waiting list are notified by an email and are given a specific time to reply. The deadline to respond changes as the start date for the term/intake approaches.

If an applicant is on a wait list, they need to be sure that the college has all current contact information. It is important that the applicant responds as quickly as possible if an offer is issued.

If the applicant has applied to more than one program and has been placed on a waiting list and accepted a spot in another program, they will remain on the wait list. Accepting an offer to another program will not jeopardize their place on the waitlist.

Wait lists are maintained until the start of classes for the intake applied to.

If the applicant would like to be considered for the same program at a later start date, they must apply to the program and complete the process again at Ontario Colleges.

They will have to repeat all program entrance screening procedures. Waitlisted applicants are not given preferential selection or entry to a subsequent program intake.
