SIFE GBC PROJECTS
United Change is an environmental sustainability education program that applies economics and business concepts while using an entrepreneurial approach to present participants with the opportunity to go-green and improve their business.
The Solid Ground program emphasizes the importance of budgetary goal setting, teaching financial decision-making skills and instilling students with a sense of pride. Our ongoing goal is to help participants develop skills to understand and maintain long-term financial stability.
GBC Productions
GBC Productions is a program run by SIFE George Brown College students with a focus on marketing, brand development and management. This program is designed to build the SIFE George Brown brand across campus through the development of a SIFE George Brown website and through the utilization of multiple social media tools effectively on the web, while teaching participants the skills needed to effectively market, brand and facilitate a program.
Business 101
Alterna, in collaboration with the City of Toronto has introduced the Youth Micro-Loan Pilot, a program designed to provide young entrepreneurs with financing of up to $5000 and the educational and personal support they need to be successful.
Business In the Streets
SIFE George Brown and The Institute of Entrepreneurship and Community Innovation at George Brown College is developing and implementing a new program for newcomer & high-risk youth called Business in the Streets. Business in the Streets focuses on helping newcomer & high-risk youth learn entrepreneurial business principles outside, on the street, with the support of local business owners from their neighbourhood.
SIFE Alumni Network
SIFE George Brown underwent several changes at the beginning of the 2010 semester. The focus was establishing new partnerships while maximizing our efforts within our communities with new projects and a larger target audience. We recognized that SIFE Alumni were a critical part in what the team stands for today. As part of the 2011-2012 Strategy, we created and implemented a network where the alumni would have an opportunity to critique and provide their highly-valued opinions on projects.
